[texhax] Ubuntu editors for TeX

Hello -

What Ubuntu text editor best accomodates TeX?  Is there one like WinEdt
which allows you to TeX your .tex file, view your .dvi file,  create a .pdf,
directly from within the editor?  Or is there a better way to work with TeX
from under Ubuntu?
