[texhax] problem with align environment

the error is a wayward $ in line 4 (= 485):

            Z &= \overline{(\overline{A}.\overline{B} + C)} + (B.C) \\
              &= (\overline{\overline{A}.\overline{B}}.\overline{C}) + B.C    \\
              &= (\overline{\overline{A}} + \overline{\overline{B}}).$\overline{C} + BC \\

              &= (A + B).\overline{C} + B.C \\
              &= A.\overline{C} + B.\overline{C} + B.C \\
              &= A.\overline{C} + B.(\overline{C} + C)\\

i first checked how many { and } and they
matched.  no help there.  so i then commented
out all but the first and last lines, ran it
(no problem), then uncommented lines one by
one until i hit the line that caused the
problem.  once the search was cut down to
one line, much easier to find the culprit.
