[texhax] Bibtex question

All,

When using the "srt" bibliography style to get numbered references, is there
a way to get consecutive numbers to print e.g. [1,2,3,4], or [1-4], instead
of  [1],[2],[3],[4]?

As shown in \cite{Pinheiro/Bates:2000},\cite{Verbeke/Molenberghs:2000},
\cite{Gelman:2007}, \cite{Bryk/Raudenbush:1992}.
