Your layout originality will not survive copyediting.  Unless you're  
self-publishing (or publishing at a place that doesn't really  
copyedit), you are merely creating more work for your copyeditor.   
(Well, not really, your copyeditor will probably just delete all the  
extra code messing with paragraphs and substitute the house style  
file...)  Either way, seems like a waste of effort (and a bad idea  
anyways).
