[texhax] conflict b/t packages, trying newcommand, etc.

the epic and carom packages (for xymtex) have at least one conflict with - 
i think - with amsfonts (see below for error).

basically, \ggg is already defined.  so i tried out \newcommand{\ggg}{foo} 
or \renewcommand{\ggg}{foo}, but latex won't let this go.

its somewhat difficult to play around with \newcommand or \renewcommand - 
i.e. playing with different values of {cmd}[args]{def} after the \*command 
- any pointers appreciated.

btw, typing H says maybe ask a human, but it seems i might do X and 'get 
away with it'.
