[texhax] bibtex : multiple entries a year for the same first author

I haven't been able to track down exactly where it's controlled, but
there must be components of it in both the .bst file (to put the
letters on the end of the year in the bibliography) and the .sty file
(to put the letters on the end of the year in the citations in the
text.)
However, ref_biblio's ancestor, apalike (which also has both a .bst
file and a .sty file) does the citations the way you want. (You'll
need to use the command \cite instead of \shortcite.)
