[texhax] meta-mode.el and meta-buf.el

Dear all,

Any luck yet with meta-mode.el and meta-buf.elf? It looks like Ulrich 
Vieth abandoned his project to write a usable metapost major mode for 
Emacs and add meta-buf to enable compilation of *.mp files on Emacs many 
years ago. Have you heard of another attempt to write such a major mode? 
Are there any programmers interested in doing it? It should be fairly easy.
