[XeTeX] How to get the French item symbol, using polyglossia

Hi, Alain,
In Spanish there is very the same problem (and even more, since the writers
of the Babel Spanish package considered to tweak many a typographical
convention, e.g., page numbering style !!!).
Follow Fr Michael's advice.
