implemented using .otf features.
If one wishes to get at the special-purpose fonts (small caps,
superscripts, subscripts, fractions &c.) you need to access these
using virtual fonts --- see the fontinst manual --- you'll need to
use xetex w/ xdvipdfmx if you wish to use xetex though.
