The automatic selection of bold and italic faces using the /B and /I
modifiers (rather than loading the fonts via explicit names) seems to
fail in some cases, particularly non-Latin fonts. The workaround
(until I fix XeTeX) is to use the fontspec BoldFont=... option to
specify the bold font (check the fontspec documentation in case I
haven't remembered this accurately).
