Hi Peter,

I just want to be sure: I am trying to build the Debian TeX Live
based on the current sources in svn, and I always fail out with

checking for freetype-config... freetype-config
Package poppler was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `poppler.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'poppler' found
configure: error: did not find poppler 0.12 or better


Now I *want* to use the TL built-in poppler, as Debian's is too old.

Could this be a failure created by using automake 1.14.1 ? 

(of course I can use my onw 1.15, but that does not work on the
auto builders for other architectures).
