I've just made build attempts for xz-5.0.5 in 95 different compilation
environments on about 25 flavors of Unix. While many succeeded, there
are also many failures, and most of those report this validation-suite
error:

	test_bcj_exact_size.c:71: ret == LZMA_OK
	/bin/ksh[10]: 2818064 Abort(coredump)
	FAIL: test_bcj_exact_size

It would therefore appear that xz-5.0.5 should NOT be a candidate for
at least some of the TeX Live 2014 supported architectures.

I've seen failures on GNU/Linux (x86, x86-64, IA-64), OpenBSD (x86),
and Solaris 10 and 11 (x86), although on some of those, a build in a
different compilation environment passed all of the tests.
