Hi Martin and Harald,

first please clarify the details:
* TL2011 as released or some SVN snapshot (and if so which one)
* poppler 0.18 presumably refers to a system version, because the TL2011
   release uses 0.12.4
* svn version 4356 in the URL above refers to what

One problem is, that poppler 0.18 was released long after TL2011 (although
as far as I can see all relevant changes came with 0.17.0 or 0.17.2).

Thus TL SVN was adapted only recently (r24218, 2011-10-06) to use system
poppler 0.18.0 (for luaTeX) and 0.12.4 in the TL tree was replaced by 0.18.0
even later (r24242, 2011-10-08).

Finally e-pTeX uses neither xpdf (from the TL tree) nor poppler (installed
or from the TL tree), I can't see how the poppler version should matter for
platex!
