Mark complains that the binaries for Solaris 10x86 were broken in TL09.
I have no access to Solaris and can't test this...

Martin (and Allin),

Thanks for your replies.

The person who installed TeXLive 2009 on Solaris 10x86 here asked me to
inform you (I don't know if you are involved with the TL 2010 effort
offhand---if you aren't please read "they" for "you" below.):

We actually are in the real world, in such world the latest
release of Solaris 10x86 up to the latest patch level has no
asprintf.  We are installing from their Distribution CD so it
would be up to their distribution CD to put such a check for
asprintf.  If you are going to put out a binary distribution
for a specific platform then it should work on said platform.
It doesn't get more real than that.

Like I said in my origial bug report I hope this is fixed in TL 2010.
That might be easy since in TL 2009 "tex -version" works but
"latex -version" complains about an undefined asprintf.
