[protext] Floating figure: JPG pics flushed to right

Hi all,
I got problem in placing the float figures which have ,jpg file format.
Here the sample block:
......
\usepackage{graphicx}
......
\begin{figure}[placement specifier]
\centering
\includegraphics{aws.jpg}
\caption{Archimedes wave swing (AWS)}
\label{fig1}
\end{figure}
.....

Any placement specifier (t,h,p,t,!h) always give the figure flushed to the right, not centered.
However, figures with .eps format are always placed in the center correctly. The caption is also centered for any figure file format. The common problem in .eps file is that the size is usually very big.

I need your suggestion and help.

Thanks,
Wijono (ID)
