[pdftex] Re: Problem with printing

I used 7.00 and 5.50, but I didn't use Troy's file for this test.  As
far as I understood, he wanted to convert the embedded files to EPS to
be able to recreate the document with latex instead of pdflatex.  Thus
I used another file I already had on my system.


Now I tried SOI_sim.pdf with different versions:

4.03 complained that the device pswrite in unknown.  It's obviously
     too old.

5.50 said: Error: /typecheck in --known--
     and produced a PS file that contains everything up to the second
     paragraph of the first page as well as a correct BoundingBox.

All other versions except 7.00 produced a PS file that can be
displayed completely by gv.

6.01 to 6.51 produced a correct BoundingBox, but 6.61 and 7.00 simply
     set the lower left corner to 0 0 instead of calculating it.
     
7.00 produced a PS file that contains everything up to the second
     paragraph of the first page and aborted with the same error
     message you got, there are only two small differences in the
     stack traces.
