Are you saying you have a customized setup including parts in /usr/ 
local/teTeX/ (the texmf trees) and others in /usr/local/gwTeX/  
(libkpathsea plus texmf.cnf)? That seems highly non-standard. Is this  
Fink's doing, or your doing?
