Nevertheless the big problem is that you
can't have curved arrows (although this wuld be a bagatelle if we assume
a PostSCrpt interpreter available).
i don't think it's fair to make the assumption -- yet -- that a
postscript interpreter will always be available. although they're
getting rarer, some sites still use non-postscript typesetters, and
ghostscript doesn't help with those. (i assume that sites in east
europe without the funds to acquire postscript equipment would be able
to use ghostscript -- or is that always a possibility?)
