Travel to Trivandrum for TUG'25

Visa needed: Trivandrum (aka Thiruvananthapuram) is in India, the state of Kerala. If you are coming from the United States or most other countries, you will need a visa, which can be a nontrivial undertaking. A tourist visa should suffice, assuming you are planning tourist activities. For information or recommendation letters from the conference organizers, please email us.

Fly into the Trivandrum airport, code TRV. Terminal 1 is for domestic flights and Terminal 2 is for international flights. They are about 5 km apart. Often the best connection will be through a Gulf country (Qatar, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, etc.), and reach Trivandrum at an early-morning time. You may want to make use of the lounge facilities at the airport; the standard checkin time at the Hyatt Regency is 3pm, and there is usually a substantial extra charge for early checkin.

Airport pick-up: please either 1) contact the Hyatt Regency (phone: +91 471 258 1234) directly >with your arrival details to arrange a pickup by them, or 2) use the pre-paid taxi counter at the airport, which has police assistance. The regular taxis at the airport are notorious for overcharging.

Tourist information about Kerala, as well as hotel information, are on separate pages. This page is about getting to/from the city.
