An European TEX users groups' initiative to form a so-called Network of Excellence (NoE) will be presented. In June 2002 an Expression of Interest to this effect has been submitted to the European Community and work is in progress to formulate a complete proposal for funding within the Sixth Framework Programme of the European Community. It should be ready for submission as soon as the relevant Call for Proposals is announced.
Conditions for funding are very complex, but even if it is not awarded, the proposal should nonetheless become the blueprint of the future European TEX LUGs cooperation.
