OpenType installation basics for ConTeXt

Adam T. Lindsay

Abstract

This article examines the basic steps necessary for OpenType font installation, with a focus on ConTeXt-oriented tools. Along the way, I will give overviews of the general font installation workflow and of the TeX font font installation script. The article assumes a fair amount of confidence at the command line and a properly-configured ConTeXt installation.

Adam Lindsay is a Research Fellow in Computing at Lancaster University, UK. He is an internationally recognized expert in MPEG-7, and finally approached the TeX world in 2002 after being required to edit large ISO standards using Microsoft Word. Being a Mac user, he is naturally passionate about fonts. Adam may be contacted at mailto
