i've never used lineno in anger, but i don't believe that the people
responsible for its maintenance use y&y tex, so they're are unlikely to
be reading this list.

so ... if the documentation doesn't indicate that it can be done, the
only places to submit an inquiry like this are the texhax list or the
comp.text.tex usenet group (which you can access via google groups).

only contact the maintainers direct in extremis.
