\specials in .dvi files

Herbert, I see there's been no reply to your query from the 20th. I
wonder if perhaps you might not get a better response if you posted to
comp.text.tex -- c.t.t. for short.

You can get there by using the Y&Y website. Go to Resources > UseNet
Newsgroups > TeX and subscribe to it. I just did that much, via
Mozilla, but I haven't actually posted a message, so don't know the
exact details on that. But they keep telling me this is all totally
intuitive, so we should believe that posting is just a simple
additional step ;-))
