reading .dvi files

yes -   DVIWINDO that comes with Y&Y TeX displays the .dvi file.

the "dvi" file is an intermediate file between the source document
and the final file that is sent to the printer -    "dvi" stands
for DeVice Independent -- If you have a complete TeX system on
your computer, then you will have something that interprets .dvi
files  ;-)
