FWD: MathTime Complete question

I will try to answer your question.

The short answer: go with PC and you'll get all the files you need ;-)

The more detailed answer is:

While the website is perhaps not all that clear as to the differences
between PC and UNIX platform requirements, the documentation for
Mathtime is clear. Here is an extract from p.4, section 1.6:

The Unix/NeXt version of this font set inculdes font files in PFA
   format rather than PFB ...

   ...

PFA -- Printer Font ASCII, a verbose hexadecimal representation of
the PFB files, commonly used on Unix/NeXt systems and containing
exactly the same information as the PFB file.

(It's the PC platform which requires files in PFB + PFM formats.)

There's a utility that comes with all the fonts, called pfbtopfa.exe,
along with a file just called pfbtopfa, which is the documentation
that the unix sysadmin person will understand.

So just go with the PC platform option, and you'll get everything
that's needed for UNIX -- including the PFB files that have to be run
through the conversion utility pfbtopfa, to generate the PFAs that
your unixbox will need.

The MathTime distribution will include a readme.txt file, which
provides further installation information.

I myself have another Y&YTeX font set, the Lucida Brights, on my
unixbox. So it can be done ;-)

Please let us know how it all works out.

====

I would also like to recommend is that you or someone in your group
who will be administering the fonts may wish to subscribe to this
`techsupport' FORUM list. See the Y&Y website, www.yandy.com, under
`Support' for details on signing up. I'm on the list, so you can just
address mail to techsupport at yandy.com and I'll see it, along with the
many other Y&YTeX users already there.

Ch.
