[XeTeX] emdash and endash

It should work

\documentclass{article}
\listfiles
\usepackage{fontspec}
\begin{document}


a---b

\end{document}


makes an emdash for me with current texlive.

If you have an example that fails can you show log from such a test
(\listfiles makes a list of package versions at the end of the log)
