[XeTeX] Inter char tosen with -- ligature

Hi :-)

Is ist possible to use the inter char token function to add some extra space around an en-dash created with the TeX ligature `--`?

I already asked this at TeX.SX: http://tex.stackexchange.com/q/317501/4918
I attach the same MWE as posted there.
