Fontspec [2013/03/16 v2.3a Font selection for XeLaTeX and LuaLaTeX] requires {expl3}[2011/09/05] and seems to work alright for me with expl3.sty    2013/03/14 v4469. These files don't make use of \c__keys_code_root_tl or \c_keys_code_root_tl, on my system it's only l3keys.sty    2013/02/24 v4461, that has \c__keys_code_root_tl. A final update might be useful… (since TeX Live has become stable a month ago)
