[XeTeX] french hyphenation for XeTeX (not XeLaTeX)

Hello,

is french hyphenation available with XeTeX ?

I insist, it is XeTeX + plain, not XeLaTeX
because I have to  compile an 'old' french book, 
written with plain.

I work with TeXShop on a Macintosh (last distribution).
