Hello All,

I have a question about a slight 'conflict' between the memoir class's
\legend{} and arabxetex. When I use the arabtex package, I get a colon
printed at the beginning of any text included in \legend{}.

Does anyone know why this is happening, or can anyone suggest a solution?

Best,

Nathan

Here's a minimal example:

\documentclass{memoir}

\usepackage{arabxetex}

\begin{document}

There is a change of hand from the final passages of II 3 to the very
start of II 8. It then resumes with what appears to be the original
hand.

\marginpar{\legend{LEGEND}
This is a marginal note with a legend.}

We occasionally find the expression ... at the end of a proof,
following the ... In some cases it seems to be filling space, in the
preface to Book II, it is squeezed in.

\end{document}
