Pdfpages might be able to perform this... At least it might also help  
to use ISO A5 paper instead of ISO A4 – and the fonts' and other  
dimensions reduced to 70 or 71 %... External programmes like pdftk or  
PoDoFo might be able to perform it (they both have the same set of  
functions which also pdfpages can use).
