[XeTeX] xetex tiles incorrectly with the wallpaper package

I'm not sure I understand. I found only one copy of xetex.def on my 
system, at 
/usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf-dist/tex/xelatex/xetex-def/xetex.def. I 
edited that. Am I missing something?
