No, that is a bad solution. bidi comes with fully enhanced footnote
mechansim.

\footnote: if inside RTL environment produces RTL footnote and if inside LTR
environment, produces LTR environment

\RTLfootnote: always means RTL footnote

\LTRfootnote: always means LTR footnote

You also can/need to control the behaviour of footnote rule

\autofootnoterule: if the first footnote in a page is RTL, the footnote rule
will be on the right hand side of that page (no matter what the other
footnotes on that page are) and if the first footnote in a pge is LTR, the
footnote rule on that page will be on the left hand side (no matter what the
other footnotes are)

\rightfootnoterule: always places the footnote rule at the right hand side
of the page

\leftfootnoterule: always places the footnote rule at the left hand side of
the page

\textwidthfootnoterule: makes the footnote rule as wide as the textwidth
