Hello

Is it possible to use Persian numbers for numbering parameters in XeTeX and if not, can this be done in the macro level?

For example this is the minimal test file in Plain TeX file that I tried

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

\def\name#۱{\begingroup\bf#۱\endgroup}
test
\end%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

so I have written 1 in Persian and this is the error I get:

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

! Parameters must be numbered consecutively.
<to be read again>
                   ۱
l.1 \def\name#۱
                {\begingroup\bf#۱\endgroup}
? %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
