I am using the OT font.

The Arabic script feature was called before:

> \newfontfamily{\arabicfont}[Script=Arabic,Scale=1.7]{Scheherazade}
> \newfontfamily\Arabic[Scale=1.3]{Scheherazade}

and I tested the example with and without "Script=Arabic": the  
difference is whether the letters are joined or not. But I can see  
the "sukkun" in any case.

I also checked with the AAT font Al Bayan:

\documentclass{minimal}
\usepackage{xltxtra}
\newfontfamily{\arabicfont}[Scale=1.7]{Al Bayan}

\usepackage{arabxetex}
\begin{document}

\textarab[fullvoc]{`al_A}

\end{document}

which produces the same result:
