The main specific problem I have with the transcription characters is
that, when pasting them from a UTF-8 text file into Word, they get
corrupted.  It's an encoding problem that would be very easy to
diagnose and correct for, if the rest of the document auto-generation
were already there.  In that sense, the results of a conversion
process would be a lot smoother.
