I don't have time to do any major new development at the moment, but I  
hope to fix a few things, and in particular I'd like to integrate a  
new version of the ICU layout engine.

I am of course happy to consider other patches as well, but in this  
particular case I think the problem should be solved at a different  
level.

There are some more extensive new features that I've begun discussing  
with another developer, but I'm reluctant to "announce" something that  
may or may not come to fruition (not for TL 2009, anyway).
