That is a TeX Live 2007-based distribution. TL2008 includes a
significantly newer version of xetex (as well as many other updates),
but AFAIK is not yet available through the Debian package system.
If you want the newer xetex, you can install TL2008 from the DVD, but
it won't be managed by apt-get or other Debian package tools, it will
be a "standalone" TL installation. You may need to update your PATH
and perhaps other configuration issues manually in this case.
Alternatively, you could ask if anyone has packaged a xetex update for
Debian, separate from the texlive-2007 packages.
