[XeTeX] TL2008 DVD

Hi Alan

it seems that the proper command for that is tl-portable 
(http://www.tug.org/texlive/doc/texlive-en/texlive-en.html#x1-400005).

I'm not totally sure, but I think you need to install it not as root, 
but as the user that will use the DVD.
