If you try experimental version of bidi, bidipoem.sty is provoded for
typesetting Persian poems. Arabs follow our convention. It provieds four
environments, traditionalpoem and modernpoem and starred version of these.
You will need to use traditionalpoem environment. A minimal example would be

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{arabxetex}
\usepackage{bidipoem}
\begin{document}
\begin{arab}
\begin{traditionalpoem}
verse1&verse2\\
verse3&verse4\\
.....
\end{traditionalpoem}
\end{arab}
\end{document}

See http://bidi.berlios.de

You need to use subversion.
