[XeTeX] External font and xltxtra breaks \footnote in xelatex

Could you explain it more clearly?

I believe that the \footnote command should work no matter whether I
choose external font or not. Does any documentation of xelatex
mentions the relationship between xltxtra, footnote and external font?
If not, it should be a BUG.
