 you also can either use polyglossia or XePersian instead arabxetex.
XePersian is particularly intended for Persian users, but I am happy to add
arabic support to that as well. At least you can try different packages and
decide which one suits you better. In addition in XePersian, we have
achieved Persian/Arabic maths digits as well.
