[XeTeX] bounding box of a character

Dear All,
   
  Is there a macro to get the bounding box of a char? 
  I think it could be easy for XeTeX to do that because XeTeX know the font metric.
   
  I need it to get better performance for typesetting CJK full-width punctuation.
  Currently I use a complicated method to get this information.
