  What you're saying here is that not every OpenType font is a TrueType
font, which is of course correct.  But that doesn't contradict
Apostolos' sentence which states the reciprocal!  I think he's right
(every TrueType font probably complies with the OpenType specification
-- apart maybe for small details).  Note, further, that Apostolos being
right doesn't invalidate Gerrit's statement either, since the latter
says that he had to transform a TrueType font into an OpenType font to
add missing ligatures.  This, of course, doesn't necessarily make an
OpenType font out of a TrueType font, but may also do so, according to
the way one chooses to add the ligatures, using the TrueType liga table
or the liga feature of the OpenType GSUB table, or even some different
option (converting into OpenType/CFF, adding AAT tables, etc.).
