There is indeed some instruction in black.tex which inputs  
ad2head.tex. The log tells this without any doubt.

It may be a macro. Or: after commenting out

\input ad2head

in black.tex, did you save this black.tex? If you didn't, then XeTeX  
must be loading the unmodified version.
