[XeTeX] Problem updating TeXLive in Windows

Dear Pete
OK - I'll try that (one last time!). But using the GUI the package updated
perfectly from that site until the final step, which has to be done manually
with updater.bat, as the GUI itself informs the user: at that point it not
only fails but also disables TL Manager permanently, requiring a complete
uninstall and reinstall of TeXLive (this takes ages!).
If this doesn't work I'll content myself with the distribution on the disc
and wait for next year's update - or else buy a Mac if they come down to
about £5 in the January sales.
Best wishes
John

What you still have not changed is the URL of the mirror site. Try
vary this, or remove it that tlmgr finds itself a working site.
The 'tlmgr option location ...' is meant to set something steadily
reliable.
