[XeTeX] Could JK provide a little backgound on how OpenType MATH tables are handled?

There's a bunch of stuff that I still have to do manually, though,  
which is not yet implemented. No time, no time…

Anyway, with regard to your two queries: in both cases I believe your  
thinking is correct, although I haven't studied the implementation.
