XeTeX can now do this, too (along with "synthetic" bold and  
compressed/expanded fonts), but that feature wasn't implemented yet  
in the TL2007 release. You can have it now if you're willing to  
rebuild xetex from source; otherwise, it'll be available in the  
TL2008 version later this year.
