[XeTeX] XeLaTeX and graphics

Howdy,

I know that I can easily include pdf images in a xelatex document  
using the graphicx package. What other formats are available for  
direct inclusion? If I try to include an eps image directly it seems  
to fail. Even using the epstopdf package fails; probably because that  
package does some driver check and doesn't see pdftex as the driver.

I'm using xelatex with the xdvipdfmx back end under Mac OS X 10.4.
