Yes: edit dvipdfmx.cfg (/usr/local/texlive/2007/texmf/dvipdfm/ 
dvipdfmx.cfg ?) and reset V to 5 ... (or edit the PDF file  
appropriately). For pdfTeX a similiar mechanism exists. Since years  
it's possible to embed audio and video.
